PCDJ DEX

You need much more than a simple media player if you intend to play music in front of a crowd. Playing the right tracks, at the right moment, applying effects or making certain adjustments in real time can make all the difference between a successful event and a snooze-fest. PCDJ DEX offers a complete solution for any amateur or professional DJ. It comes with multiple decks for audio tracks, video and karaoke files, it provides manual and automatic mixing features and much more.

The program is available for Windows and Mac OS X platforms. Both editions are easy to install and they don't require powerful hardware. The Windows installation file is almost 14 MB, which should not take long to download, even with a slower Internet connection.

Everything you need to play and mix your tracks can be found on the same user interface. You can explore your local partitions, add music to the program's database and create playlists on the lower half of the window. Once you locate your music, you may click and drag your files to the main database, a playlist or a favorites folder. You can also click and drag your files to a mixing deck, on the upper half of the interface, to cue them.

PCDJ DEX allows you to make a wide range of adjustments for different tracks, on separate decks. While playing a track, you can use headphones to listen to the next track and make the same adjustments on the second deck. You can manually cross-fade from one deck to another or click a button and let the software do it for you. Vinyl disc simulations are possible as well.

It is also possible to add external effects, separately, for each deck. You can switch from the file explorer view mode, on the lower part of the window, to a list of added effects and activate or deactivate them with different sliders. PCDJ DEX's functions are too many to count, but all you need to know is that it encompasses everything you would expect from a professional DJ software.
